I would post questions on www.vwvortex.com for good advice. I know of no free on-line diagrams. I have always bought a Bentely manual for my VW's. They are the most comprehensive manual you can get. Complete wiring diagrams and interior part removal diagrams. The one for my jetta is 4 inches thick. Here is one on CD-Rom for your car:

They have service manuals and some good user technical discussion boards. I bought one for a VW Golf and it is ok. A bit lacking in some details but pretty good overall. Electical diagrams were nice to have.

you can try autozone.com. I'm not sure they will have it, but it's a good website, and its totally free. Depends on the part you want. They will at least tell you HOW.
