I have a 2002 VW Jetta. Usually when I lock it with the key fob, the horn beeps. I just had my car detailed and now the horn doesn't beep when I lock it. Any ideas on how to fix it? Did the detailer maybe hit something to deactivate the beep?

If they washed under the hood with a powersprayer, they could have. It could also be wet and will have to dry. I would call the detailer to let them know about it not working and see what they say. Then ask what will they reimburse if you have to have it fixed. It worked when you came in and does not now and that is unacceptable. Don't take no for an answer.

I have a passat which has a separate horn in the trunk that does the alarm beeps. check to make sure the wire is connected and that it is not being obstructed. Mine is in the trunk on the passenger side by the wheel hump.

Could be wire has slipped off horn, does the horn blow from the button on the steering wheel? If not, that check the leads on the horn under the hood. Otherwise, could be something with the alarm module.

my oo jetta did the same thing, it also started locking by itself, try unlocking all doors before locking them back & see if it beeps then, the fix for mine was the dr. side DOOR LOCK SWITCH. It was just another $300.00
