I know it's a "scissors" jack, I know that it lifts one side of the car at a time, I know where it fits underneath the car, but it doesn't go up!!! How do I get it to make the car go up? I had a flat today and a friend had to use their jack because we couldn't make the VW jack go up.

I agree with joe g. The bug and the bus and any other VW didnt come with a scissors jack. They came with a jack made especialy for that vehicle. And they worked pretty good I might add.

Throw it away and get a decent trolley jack, carry that instead.

Scissor jacks should be banned!

I had one strip its thread and the car just missed my foot as it fell. I won't use one ever again.

Get rid of the scissor jack today.

Turn the jack screw clockwise and it should go up. If it doesn't than it's broken
