this is the second time it has done this te first time it backfired i replaced it and re torqued every thing and re set the timing, this one i drove less than ten miles. the engine sputered and died. went to check the timing while moving the harmonic balencer there was no movement of the roter button on the distributor. any ideals where i need to start

I just bought a 2004 trailblazer with 20,000 miles on it. I was recently sitting in traffic and i look down and the tempature gauge as all the way in the red, i took it it to get checked out and they can not figure out what is wrong with it, they said they had it sitting for 2 hours running and it did not overheat. it has not gotten to the red since then but it does run a little hot. does anyone know? they checked the hoses and fan clutch and all that

my truck will not start unless I prime it with gas every time first....once I do that it runs great. It doesnt need a fuel pump or fuel filter....could the ECM be bad maybe? Someone tried to tell me that it could need the fuel injectors replaced....but I dont believe that is the problem....wouldnt it not even run if they were bad? I took it to a shop who tried to tell me the fuel injectors were plugged up and charged me $130 to flush them....and the problem still exists. My Chilton manual tells me that the Electronic control module tells the injectors to squirt the fuel upon starting so if it were bad couldnt that be my problem??? Please advise....!!!

I have a 1998 Chevrolet S10 rear wheel drive with drum brakes on the rear and disc in front. My truck recently failed inspection because I put the rear shoe in the front and the front shoe in the rear the mechanic said. I have taken off my shoes and I can't tell the difference. And I didn't take a picture before removing them. How can you tell which shoe belongs where since they will go on backwards (I assumed they would only go on one way)?

I've read some about cold air intakes, air filters, (the turbonator (bad reviews from what I've read) I'm just trying to get my car, fixed up a bit, with a few performance parts here and there, just wondering what might be the best things to go with, mainly looking for improved HP, better gas mileage. Hi. I need to know where the fuel pressure regulator is located on a 1988 Dodge Dakota Sport with a 3.9 L V-6 Engine that has an automatic transmission. 2 wheel drive. I believe it is near the carburetor but I am not sure. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks for the help.

Mercedes owners are rich and just have the ability to be ripped off. Mercedes' have horrible reliability. The "W" guy keeps on saying that J.D. Powers gave Mercedes a good reliability rating. AGAIN, J.D. Powers only rates cars for the first 90 days. If anyone is buying a car just to own it for 90 days, go ahead and buy a Mercedes! Consumer Reports, which rates cars for years, and gives Mercedes horrible ratings. Sad because Lexus cars that cost less actually do BETTER. Any Lexus will have more reliable and more updated technology than any Mercedes. For those who say that they own a Mercedes for its performance, that's B.S. If you are looking for performance, get a BMW. If you are looking for luxury,.value, safety, technology, and comfort, get a Lexus. There is no other reason to get a Mercedes other than to show off!

I installed a NEW starter in an 89 cherokee. I turn the key and not a sound from the starter. It seated properly and the 2 wires are tight. Is it possible for the teeth to be missaligned even though it seated, and wouldnt I at least hear it scream. Or is the solenoid my likely culprit.?

I'm trying to eliminate a "shake" i get from the engine sometimes at redlights. It just one little shutter about 1x per minute. It drives, revs, and accelerates fine. any other ideas?
