can you get a title from just a bill of sale and the approval of the previous owner. Because the owner of the car lost the title but he gave me a bill of sale and hes too busy to got to the dmv.

You never should have bought the car without the title. You dont even know who really owns it! You better get a hold of that dude and tell him to get you a duplicate title ASAP. If he wont, then the only thing to do would be to call the police and have them tag the vehicle as abandoned, and then you can get a title in a month or so.

It depends on what state youre in.
A Bill of Sale is pretty much like a receipt of payment for the car.
You can take the bill of sale paperwork and get a title for the car.
Since we didnt get a state that youre in or where you got the bill of sale from...just check on your local DMV or secretary of state website or call and just ask the procedure for a bill of sale.

call the DMV in your state. In Texas, you can get a title with a bill of sale

He will either need to go to DMV or give someone a power of attorney to get a duplicate title to sign off.
It could be that there is a lien agianst the car that he is trying to avoid paying, and you will end up with out a car or your money.
