Possibly low/no oil.

Some times people put additives in there oil and the paint inside the oil pan comes off and plugs the oil pump pick -up screen. Drop the oil pan first while there look at a main bearing and rod bearing. Trying to drive it with out oil pressure could have killed the engine.

Oil pressure reading will depend on the oil pump which apparently is NOT pumping oil. Start by changing the oil pump. Pressure should read 30-40 pound, again depending on the pump. Ask your local mechanic

I also had a Skylline, with the same problem.

I replaced the oil pump - screen
new oil and a filter

Just to realize that it was a loose wire to the sending unit.
so a .25 cent electrical connection later I was off.

It will probably need a new sender.it,s not usually the gauge...check the oil level,check below for leaks,you may as well do an oil and filter change at this time.

it may have 2 reason :

1. oil filter is not OK .

2. oil pressure switch is wrong.

youve scrapped it... the oil pump has failed... or the scavenge side of the pump is blocked... either way, dont run it....
