In the 80's they were making cross-overs, or FI carbs, so just swap out your carb for a simular TBI system, you willl need the computer and high pressure fuel pump. They wrecking yards are full of these. Look for 80-85 models
Edelbrock also makes stand alone FI systems.

No...It is not possible to convert a carburetor to fuel injection.
However, you can REMOVE the carb and REPLACE it with fuel injection. But on a 86 Escort? The car itself is not worth the cost of what you want to do. If you want more horse power, just report the carb and take what you can get.

Not worth the effort and expense on an older car like that unless you have some other reason for just doing it....anything can be done, you'd have to get a similiar car and swap all the FI components, computer and wiring. Holley has FI kits for various applications too. Modding can be fun!!

yes it can be done ,first you need to find a old escort that has fuel injection for parts, because you,ll need a wiring harness, and all for that one, plus the computer set up,but it can be done i did a 79 camaro over to fuel injection,we used another newer car though for all the electrical we needed, that's what you,ll have to do also, its a lot of work but it can be done, good luck with it.
