On my 1997 Honda Civic CX hatchback, the air conditioner no longer comes on at the lowest 2 settings (out of 4). I hear the radiator fan come on when I move the switch to "1" or "2", but no air comes out of the vents. When I move the switch to "3" or "4", the air conditioner comes on, and at the correct level (the same force it has always come out at for that level).

Any ideas what could cause this behavior? I just spent a lot of money fixing it after "grazing" a deer (spun the car and slammed driver side into a curb, bending the rear suspension) and would rather not spend much more money on this car so I'm hoping this is something I can fix myself.

While driving my 01 BMW 330ci, my Motorola Razor phone fell out of my pocket and ended up behind the seat. When I got to my destination, the cell phone was gone. I assume it had gone into one of the vents under the seat while I was driving. When I look into the vents, I can't see the phone. When I call it, I hear it and I feel it vibrate. Does anyone know a easy way to get the phone out without tearing the car apart? Appreciate it, thanks!

I recently bought an '01 Civic LX with 63k miles. Runs well for a little car, however I started noticing a weird vibration in the car when at idle. It sometimes does rythmic tiny revs in the engine. I can't really see them on the tachometer but I can hear it. Also I can feel it a lot in the brake pedal at red lights. The body of the car (seats, doors, etc) all seem to vibrate. Any ideas if this is an adjustment in the idle or maybe an engine mount that needs changing?

Also can anyone who drives an 01 civic tell me if their suspension is really stiff? it's a bumpy ride compared to other cars I've had an was wondering if that was normal or if they need to be lubed up.

Is Premium Unleaded (93) Gasoline a requirement, or an option? I would rather use Regular Unleaded (87) in the big gas hog. Would it hurt the engine or something? I don't see why I couldn't use Regular Unleaded? I am wanting to buy a Navigator, but if it has to be ran on Premium, I can't afford to use it. Please respond.

The car has 67k miles on it, I've always used synthetic oil. No warranty anymore. Here's a question. All of a sudden recently, I've noticed that when I accelerate, and the AC is on, the car makes a weezing, whistling noise, in the low gears. I can't really hear it in the high gears, maybe because I'm going fast enough to block out the noise. What could that be? And on top of that, when the car is in drive, and I come to a full stop, like at a light, the car viberates, and this....tut tut tut tut noise is coming from the right side of the car by the gulf department. Kind of like a household spinning fan, souds kind of like a cruiser motercycle idiling....you know? just not as extereme, any ideas?

You can be driving down the road and it is time to shift gears and it might shift to neutral. Then it hangs up right there until you pump the clutch 4 or 5 times. Then it shifts like nothing is wrong. It will be a while before it does this again. You never know if you are going to be able to shift gears before you have to pump the clutch. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Is there a place for some kind of fluid that I might to need to fill?

I checked vacuum as in Fact Serv Manual. It is ok, except vac doesn't hold at black port at vac conn as FSM says it should.Panel vents don't work at all, whether at idle or acceleration. Always blows on floor when set to PANEL. DEF and FLOOR settings work fine. I changed out ATC unit and Power Module. ATC diagnosis shows no faults. FSM mentions check valve, but A) I can't find it, and B) I think it isn't the culprit because vents NEVER work- not even at idle (high vacuum). Check valve at Master Cyl is ok and does hold vacuum where it goes into car thru firewall. Temperature settings work as expected. Coolant mixing valve works fine (vac actuated).

Hey guys...looking for automotive help....theres a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited edition that is mint condition with leather interior that is for sale for $2,400 Canadian dollars. However it has gone 310,000 kilometeres....Just wondering if any automotive specialists know if its a good deal...or if anyone owns one and has had any major issues or for that matter any known issues with it?
