I put on a CAI and I was told to reset my ECU so the car can calibrate for the Air Management System. I need to know how to actually do the resetting and how long does it usually take to recalibrate the ECU once I reset it

Not sure of the 2007's, but on the older Mazda's do the following. Turn off all accessories. Disconnect the battery, negative cable. With cable disconnected, turn on the headlights for a few seconds. This sucks electricity out of some units that store electricity for brief periods but that also keeps codes in the ECU. Reattach the battery cable and you are all set. One driving cycle (start, warm up, drive to the store, turn off) should do it. May run a little rough until it adjusts to new equipment, but should happen quickly.
