On the straightaway at Texas Motor Speedway My 2006 GTO will exceed 147 miles an hour in fifth gear. The Ferrarri 360 Modena did not know what past him the next lap when I got a run on him and upshifted to 6th gear and blew past at 168 miles an hour. The GTO is heavy but actually very stable at high speed and one nice fact is the brakes are up to the job lapping sessions last 20 to 30 minutes and the only thing that slows me down were the original Bridgstone Pontenza Re-040 tires that tend to get overheated and loose grip. That problem is about to go away 14,000 miles and the tires are just about done. Next upgrade rims and Bridgstone RE-010R tires.
