The car has 67k miles on it, I've always used synthetic oil. No warranty anymore. Here's a question. All of a sudden recently, I've noticed that when I accelerate, and the AC is on, the car makes a weezing, whistling noise, in the low gears. I can't really hear it in the high gears, maybe because I'm going fast enough to block out the noise. What could that be? And on top of that, when the car is in drive, and I come to a full stop, like at a light, the car viberates, and this....tut tut tut tut noise is coming from the right side of the car by the gulf department. Kind of like a household spinning fan, souds kind of like a cruiser motercycle idiling....you know? just not as extereme, any ideas?

Oh and the car doesn't make the tut tut tut noise in any other gear, only drive. Thanks.

I've got a speed6 when i use d the AC the actual AC motor was the one making a buzzing noise, maybe it's just the AC, check the fan on the engine bay since when turned on it spins up, check the hoses ...my problem went away but since im not there beside your car it's hard to know. take it to the Mazda dealer if you think it could be serious issue, better a cheap fix then when everything goes kerplunk and you pay way more. zoom zoom.

Noises can be really hard to trace. Check to see if anything is interfering with either the A/C radiator cooling fan or the A/C compressor pulley when the A/C is on.

The tut tut noise might be an exhaust leak. Could be either at exhaust manifold to head, manifold to pipe or underneath. Try listening with a length of garden hose while car idling in gear.

Might check for leaves or debris against inside fan blades also.

Have you checked all the hoses for leaks, particularly those hoses around the a/c? Sounds like you could have something that is under pressure leaking, perhaps the refrigerant. Have the pulleys checked, one could be out of alignment. You did ont mention if the acceleration is compromised in any way.

Sounds like the catalytic converter could be stopped up...hard to diagnose over the Internet...
