It's a 96 240sx
How much do they cost?
How much power would it have?
What are some cheaper ones?
They would also have to be street legal in the U.S.
Thanks.

All depends on how much money? What power out put and Why would you want to keep putting money into a 12 year old car? Kids like those cars to turn them into drift cars with turbocharged illegal engines so while there is a ready market sell the 240SX and buy yourself a 350Z or 3.5 liter Altima Coupe

Go on line and look for the same engine but the JDM version from Japan the engine will possibly have a red valve cover they call it a red top twin cam2.0L

Japan engines have no US emissions and no governors to limit the power band of the engine
the engines also have much lower miles that the ones we have here in the states.
and they will very much pass state emissions testing

the HP output lets say that the US version has 120Hp and 115TQ
the Japanese engine will have 170HP 160TQ
Price is comparable to the engines here but may be couple 100$ less and you ll have the over seas shipping charge that makes up the lesser difference in just the engines price.
but still not a bad deal or investment
