I have a 1994 jeep grand cherokee laredo. i dont know much about cars and cant afford to take it into a mechanic that will over charge me! I feel the transmission slipping and i need to know if it is a simpleenought procedure to replace that i could just have a friend who knows about cars for me. what should i do??

I have already looked up the carfax, and the car has a clean car fax. I have already test driven the car to make sure i like what i am driving and getting into. I also popped the hood and looked in the hood for oil leaks or new parts (as thats the sign as an accident). It looks like the car was never in an accident.

Should i be looking at the maintainence records? and what should i be looking in the maintainence records? Should i call any scion dealer to ask anything about this car (as i have the VIN# of the car)?.

The car is 2005 with 35k miles. It has minor scratches on the body (Nothing too big). I am getting the car for $11,800. Is this a good price? And the car is the base model with automatic tranny with LOJACK (its helpful to trace the car if it ever gets stolen) and remote starter.

Any help regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

I have a 3.4L V-6 Camaro, when it rains really hard for some reason my car runs a little rough... Im curious as to why my motor would begin to do this... If it rains hard enough my car will actually stop... Any ideas as to why this happens? The rain is hard, there is no water on the road (Not Flooded i mean) Anybody have any ideas?

I have a 1997 ford fiesta flight. It failed part of its MOT for back brake efficiency. The brakes were 47% efficient and needed to be at least 50% efficient as far as i know. They did not tell me what was wrong with the brakes, i was told it would cost me to find out what it could be. I was wondering what the problem would be, as far as i can tell the brakes work fine, they dont make any noises as i brake, everything works fine as far as i can tell. What could the problem be and is their a way i could test it to find out , and how could i go about fixing it.

My 2003 Volvo S60 has a message on the console that says "Alarm Service Requested". Has anyone seen this, or have any ideas what it might mean? I know it obviously means there must be a problem with the alarm, but should I be bracing myself for hundreds of dollars? I haven't notices anything not working, and I also know the Volvo is well known for lots of little messages coming up that have easy fixes like a false alarm. Thought maybe someone would have some input before I head to the mechanic!

I have a 1960-2 door -Studebaker 'Lark' -- that had a small block V8 & manual 3/speed transmission (all orginal) & I want to install a , High Perforance -A GM 327 c.i. engine with a 4 speed manual transmission , electric fan to cool the radiator . Does any one out there know of any infomation on this? Also , I plan to install headers w/ duel exhaust.

It's nasty! Whenever we turn the AC on, these little black particles come flying out of the vents. It's coming from right inside the vents, where I can see some sort of filter-type material lining the sides of the ducts. Is there any way to get a replacement element, and is it a PITA to get the vents off in order to get in there and get the task done? Or would it be better to simply rip out the remaining filter stuff and leave it bare?

Hello guys, a couple of weeks ago, driving on the freeway, my car started feeling a little funny, the RPM went crazy up and down, finally coming down to a full stall. I took it to a mechanic, who check the fuel pressure and said it was the fuel pump. Well, I replaced it and ran ok for two weeks, today it did it again. there was no check engine light on again, so I am frustrated about the situation. Does enyone have any idea of what can be wrong?
