Car Makes - April 2007

Hte car is a 2dr. 6cyl. automatic, 1962 mercury comet. it has buket seats, a chrome center console and looks from the pics. to be in pretty good condition. I dont know anything about the mechanical aspect of cars and was wondering what i should look for when i take it for a test drive?? what should I pay special attention to? thanks for your help, hope to hear from somebody soon!!

a V8 4.7L engine or a Hemi 5.7 L engine? I heard that the Hemi has less fuel consumption due to higher technology ( Shutting 4 cylinders when RPM is less than 3) , any Hemi owners answers?

This 1992 Camry had oil all over the spark plugs. What might be causing this? I took the cylinder cover off the engine and the pcv valve appears to be plugged and I am going to replace that tomorrow. Is there anything obvious that could cause oil to get all over the plugs?

i want a car that can take just about anything out there on tha road...it has to have an automatic and any size engine....it has to have a good acceleration and handling.....it can be a sedan or a coupe...i have a price limit of 21000 it needs to be able to take upgrades that i throw at it....any suggestions would help

Well, to make a long story short, my timing belt for my mazda car slipped last spring. I had the timing belt and tensioner replaced at the dealership. Then the car started to make a noise after i drove it on small roads for 10 to 15 minutes. I took it back, they said it was the idler bearings. The car made noises again after driven for 10 to 15 minutes. Then winter came, the car no longer made any noises. Now spring time is here, and the weather is warm again, the car now makes noises again in the timing belt area after it is driven for 10 to 15 minutes on small roads. When the car is driven on freeways, it doesnt seem to make as much noise if not any, this usually only happens while it is driven on small roads, where there is stop and go and during warm seasons such as spring, summer, and fall, but not winter. Does anybody have the solution to this problem? My car is 2000 Mazda Protege Es with 1.8L engine and 4 cylinder. Can it possibly be the two cams or whatever you call it?

hi, (i'm from the u.k by the way if that helps), but i'm 25 years old and i'm after a bmw 3 series, prob something from 96'- 97 ish (cos its all i can afford right now!) and my question is, should i go for a coupe or a sedan? is one better on fuel economy or will it add to my insurance, or are they pretty similar? there is a 3000gt at this dealership and it has a blown engine. They will sell it to me for about 2k or less. is this thing worth the money? How much would you pay for the car? And how much do you think it will cost to fix it. the salesman says that he can get an engine for 500 dollars but i don't know if i should believe him or not.

My Dad just replaced my timing belt...its all back together but the timing is off...when he put new belt on he didnt move the camshaft 3 teeth like it says to do in book....my timing is a little off. Can he take distributer and move it to compensate the 3 teeth?
