Fordman is right. LOL. Plus, it has taken 53 years for Chevy to get it right, it has alot of heritage behind it. Most of the exotic manufacturers make only a handful of their cars...basically making it an exclusive to own one. Corvettes and, for that matter, Dodge Vipers are a little more blue collar and are mass-produced which helps to defer costs. Plus, alot of the technologies found on Vettes trickle down to other GM products after a year or two. The new CTS-V will use the Vette's latest V-8 when they are produced. Ferrari doesn't like to share their technology with others, even those that own them like Fiat.

There are a few reasons. One of which is high resale value.
A major reason is ...the factory. It's dedicated to performance only cars. 2 lines produce the Corvette another the Cadillac XLR. There isn't a lot of re-tooling...which costs $$$
Corvette is in its 54th year. It has manufactured only 6 basic models in that time with no new one in sight. Minor changes are made each year. This means a great savings on designing and re-tooling.
Another factor... the nation-wide network of dealers. Can Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Jaguar, Aston-Martin say that?

enable me basically commence off by potential of giving an independent opinion. The corvette is exatly what that's meant to be. A "finances" activities motor vehicle that performs extremly properly. you may not flow away fee out whilst discusing the corvette. If it value 40 grand greater possibly they could have the greater healthful an end of a mercedes. i'm uncertain precisely what grew to become into incorrect with the vette you have been in yet they don't shake or sense like that is falling aside at eighty 5. i'm going to supply you the actual incontrovertible fact that the interior seems a yet much less high priced and an afterthought. that is like they designed the motor vehicle and then designed the interior with the money left over. that is properly standard that NSX vendors have a bias against vettes. not all of them of course, yet assorted them. could desire to that's the actual incontrovertible fact that the nsx expenses plenty greater effective than a vette and you get much less overall performance. that isn't any ask your self you would be conserving your nsx, probably because of the fact as quickly as you drove it off the lot it misplaced %50 of that is fee. between the worst depreciation values of any motor vehicle. additionally undergo in ideas that the vette continues to be completed on a production line. you may not say that for many activities autos. it may well be outstanding in case you obtain ferrari, mclaren or bugatti greater healthful and end.

Becouse Chevrolet uses similar technology for all there vehicles so there able to spread costs over a large spread of vehicles. The new 427 vette uses what is essentially the same motor found in every truck and suv, but its heavily bored and stroked. Plus they sell tons of crate motors to street rodders so they can recoup cost of new motors much faster.
Euro trash cars such as ferrari and lamebogini use so many custom pieces that they are prohibitively expensive to run even for people who own them. They require so much maintance that there in the shop more then on the road.
Think about how Carrol Shelby took a painfully stock 65 mustang and left ferrari way behind.

Because of the fact that they sell like hot cakes, Chevrolet can afford to sell them as "cheap" as they do and still turn a profit(cheap is a relative term here!)

Now everybody will know and want one. It's chevy's secret and I hope it stays that way.
It just shows that great cars don't have to cost a fortune.
