I'm looking into economy cars. Anyone drive a Chevy Aveo? What do you think of it? What kind of fuel economy are you getting with it? Is it worth the money? Regret buying one? Do you think you would have gone with a different car if you could do it again? Thank you!!!

PS: Looking also into Ford Focus, Chevy Cobalt, Honda Civic and Toy Corolla.

I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier. It seems at random times the spedometer will not go back to zero when the car is stopped or turned off. For example, I will be driving at 55 mph and the spedometer will read 90 miles an hour. I will come to a stop and the spedometer will stay at 35. The only way to drop the spedometer is to start the car and turn it right off. This will drop the spedometer only by 5. I can also disconnect one of the connections on the battery and it resets to zero.

Does anybody have any idea what could be wrong before I bring it to the shop? Thanks.

I have a '00 Chevy Malibu that just got a oil and battery change at a general mechanic. As soon as I started the car up the next day, the oil light popped on. It comes on every time I start the car (if it's been sitting overnight or for several hours - and it's winter conditions) and I guessed that the mechanics didn't reset the light when they changed the oil so I tried all the tricks I heard to fix it including -
* depressed the gas pedal 5 times with the key in the ignition (but not started)
* flicking the ignition on 3 times (but not starting the car)
* took the car back to the place I got the oil changed and asked them to reset the light

None of these tactics worked (not even the last!). I've checked the oil level and it's at 'full'. According to the reciept, they used the correct oil. I've been driving the car for about a month and there's no grinding noise to indicate that the engine is suffering. It just seems strange that the switch should go out after maintainance.

A couple of years ago I had a friend who had a civic with over 300k miles on it and still drove it crazy which was surprising considering the mileage on that thing and couldn't drive it anymore because of a car wreck... I was wondering if there are any other cars that can have that high of a mileage and still drive like that? (G35 is one of my highest picks for a car later..)
