So I have a '93 accord with a factory alarm. The key fob finally broke, and from what I hear, "universal" key fobs don't work with factory alarms so I have to get one from the factory for $100. Well for that price I could just get a fancier aftermarket one off ebay with a pager, I'm just wondering an idea how difficult and roughly how much time it would take to install to decide which route I'm going to go.
I've worked with electronics before doing basic soldering, I've also installed a couple car stereos before, and home theatre systems are easy for me, so that's about where my skill level is at.
Also are there any important things a first time installer should know, or be away to look out for when installing a new alarm?
The one I might be thinking about is the autopage rf-420, and I might end up adding a proximity sensor and/or pain siren.
Thanks
