If I was looking at those 3 models,
1)I would look at the honda first because they are probably best for reliability, Japanese cars usually are. Problem is, if they go wrong it costs more to fix.
2) Chevy
3)PT Cruiser - They used to have problems with them, I don't know if they've fixed all the bugs in the systems

A P.T. cruiser is in the top five ugliest cars ever made. You can't see out very well if you are driving one,so you may run over someones kid without meaning to. Honda cars are very good cars, but the element looks like a stagecoach. I am not sure about the Chevy HHR. Haven't seen one. Must not be popular,or as ugly as the other two.Why do you want an ugly car? The ugliest of all cars is The Pontiac Aztec. I laugh every time I see one,but that ain't often. They really lost money on that metal. It's another reason car designers should have to take drug tests.

Wow, crap, crap and more crap.
The Honda element is about the ugliest vehicle i've seen, although based on the fact that your avatar {thus I'm assuming you do, too} has pink hair, you're between these 3 vehicles because you have a need to be 'different'.
We call the PT cruiser a mechanic's best friend, because problems are plentiful, which means so are the repair bills.
The HHR was designed by THE SAME GUY that designed the PT cruiser for Chrysler, so that's a big fat no, also.
My advice? Shave your head and let it grow back your natural color, then buy a CAR, not a novelty item.

i have known several people who have owned the pt cruiser and have owned the Honda element though no one that has bought the HHr(just to be honest i have no idea what that is), but the dude that owns the cruiser (bought it new) wishes that he would have bought something else, but the girls that got the element
have already traded for a new one (except the one that got a
Rousch Stage 3 convertible Mustang from her ex). you just have to go with your feelings on the car that you will have to make payments on for the next little while. test drive them all and over a weekend, to see which one you feel more comfortable with.

now that they started painting the fenders of the honda it is pretty cool and is the hands down reliability winner of the 3 from your list. the pt cruiser is probabley below the hhr [a real trash can] but at least it looks better. i have seen several of each broken down on the side of the road but have yet to see a broken element

The Honda Element has the most room and is the most dependable and reliable out of those 3 cars you listed.

HONDA ELEMENT
Honda just is one notch above all the GM models which are always a little crappier than their Japanese counterparts
If not that then the HHR, it's kinda cool but chevy's aren't as nice

I don't know about two of them, but if you live around any hills I would stay away from the PT Cruiser. This car has absolutely no power.

I would go with the Honda Element, very reliable and gas effecient. Honda also has the reputation of well made and long lasting vehicles.
