Do I take that piece off the old one? NAPA says its what the catalog says is the right one.

Cannot answer the question directly but I would check with dealer for OEM replacement for better fit. After market parts tend to be different to cut corners save manufacturing cost.

As long as you can suck on the end that faces toward the intake and you feel a vibrating partial vacuum resistance the valve will work fine.

I wish they would burn those catalogs..

hmm, depends on what hooks to it.

I would take the piece off of the old one. or maybe check at another auto store and see what theirs looks like.

you shouldn't have to swap the pieces unless there is a port in the new one to accept the old piece

yes swap it its the sensor.
