i have a 1998 chevy c1500 suburban.does the tranny get hot while it idles in like overdrive or reverse for a while?

I have up to $70,000 to spend, and I don't want a gas guzzler (you know, I don't want a car that I have to pay that gas guzzler tax), but I want the fastest car with the best handling I can get for the money. What would you suggest. It doesn't have to be $60, it just has to meet the other criteria.

motortrend says the 2008 viper wil have 600 horsepower the same issue has a 2008 ss corvette with 600.the mustang will have to change the gt 500 to gt 600 or more mabe one of the big three will come out with 1000hp for less than 100g

I have a 1973 Jeep CJ 7, it is a straight 6 cyl. in very good condition with very low miles. Does anyone know what it is worth or how I can find out? Kelly Blue Book seems to only have quotes for cars newer than 1987.

Had my intake manifold replaced not too long ago. Noticed a loss of torque and power going up hill. I also noticed that the RPMs go up higher, but the car doesn't feel like it's going any faster. Could there have been a loss of compression due to the swap of manifolds? Also, was there need for adjustments to the car's computer due to the change? I took it to a non dealer auto shop, so I'm not sure if that would have made a difference, other than the difference in cost for the repair.

Just curious, if any of you have had one, what do you think of it? I'm buying it used for $2995 (financed), 63,000 miles on it (a rich old woman owned it previously, never really drove it). I'm a girl and about want a new mustang convertable.
I like the gt because i like the foglights they have on the front of the car. But what is the diffrence between the premium package and the delux. I honeslty know nothing about engiens just as long as the car looks good on the outside and it makes that loud noise when i accelerate.

I bought a pacesetter header for my 03 cavalier. I'm currently running 1 7/8" piping from the header back. Should I change everything to 2 1/4", or is it not worth the money? I may remove the cat after inspection, but I've heard it can mess with the O2 sensors and turn the check engine light on. Thanks.
