96 Ford Explorer; can't shift the gear selector and the brake lights don't work- checked all the fuses and they're good. owner's manual mentions a gear interlock circuit tied in with the brake lights- where is this circuit at? what might be the cause of my problem? Thanks!

Here is the scenario: I am driving and a light in the panel shows "check engine". If I stop at a light suddenly car shakes a little and battery pointer (arm) moves down very suddenly and car nearly stalls (but it does not). This happens a lot mainly when I stop after "check engine" light. If I keep driving fast nothing happens. My car is a FORD EXPLORER 1994. thanks for helping this poor car illiterate man!

i've got a 2006 jeep wrangler and noticed yesterday that the yellow engine-shaped light has come on. i'm only 12 days over my next three-month oil change and there're only 2600 miles on the vehicle. can anyone tell me what the light being on means?

normally, i'd check the owner's manual, but i'm packing for a move and i don't know which box my owner's manual is in!

i appreciate any help you all can give.

I just had somebody give me a 79 chevy truck, it has been sitting since august, and he got it with no keys, so what im going to do is unhook the shifter from the tranny so move it, but anyway right now there is some wires hanging out around the ingnition, which ones do i need to touch together or wire together and touch to hotwire it?

some people have told me that you have to have the fender completly off, and others say all you have to have off is the hood hinges to get the fender emblems off. then others have said you can ease them off from the outside, but I know there delicate and break easy so, does anybody know how to get them off without breaking?

I have a 1993 Ford Taurus that I am fairly sure has a bad harmonic balancer. I've never replaced one before. Is it a pretty difficult job to do or best left up to a mechanic? I would like to do it myself to save money, since I would have to have the car towed to a shop. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

I am interested in buying a used volkswagon. I wanted to know from any owners what the REAL gas mileage is freeway/in town, are the passat and jetta available in diesel and are they reliable cars.
