Dont put Altezzas on your accord, unless you're a ricer. If you really want to keep your car for a while, give it some ...

fresh paint
a lip kit
depending on where you live get either some coilovers or springs.
Along with those springs get some performance shocks/struts, if not you're stock ones will blow out. Also a camber kit.
New rims
You could smoke out your taillights and have them look better than altezzas.
Go for the JDM look, which is pretty popular right now. Clean and simple. If not you can always get a bodykit and a huge riced out wing, and neons all around if that's more of your type of thing.

EDIT: I agree with not having a wing on a FWD car, but they do add some much needed weight to the rear wheels of the car. Corrados had a height adjustable spoiler and it was a FWD car. Just dont rice out you're ride. Alot of people wouldnt want to buy a riced out car if you were to sell it.

I'll tell you what. You need to constantly keep performance in mind when adding to the looks, otherwise you will lose respect in the tuner world.

Go ahead and buy rims, but be very careful. Anything over 17" starts to add too much unsprung weight and your car will ride terrible, not to mention the front end geometry will be thrown off if the wheel offset is not right. The stock rims on that car have a +55 offset and most aftermarket rims that fit your car will have a max +45 offset. The appropriate sizes vary if you lower the car of course.

As you can see, it is much more complicated than throwing RIMS on your ride. I do reccomend coilovers, but then make sure you properly adjust the camber with the spacers.

Stay away from Altezza taillights, wings, and other bullshit because they are severely frowned upon and it shows that you are just some punk *** kid. A wing on a front wheel drive car makes no sense, and altezzas make it look cheap. Be classy, and keep the car clean. Hope this helps.

Use taste. Don't follow trends, do to it what you think will look good. Keep away from the huge wings it's not an air plane, and if you have to put huge *** out of proportion wheels on your ride just to make your penis feel bigger don't do it.

The trick to doing a ride is not to do what everyone else is. Yeah look at magazines and tv to see what's going on but a cleaner looking vehicle will always outlast whatever trends come along.

A nice set of 18's or 19's at max. (A nice set of wheels will change the look of your car more than anything.) maybe a body kit and a small spoiler off the back. Possibly some new paint. sporty but clean.

Take a walk around some junkyards and checkout some other cars to see if you can use anything from them. That's the oldschool way of things and don't limit it to just that. check out motorcycle parts, big rig stuff whatever floats your boat. (Right now I'm hacking up a bumper cover from a 91 accord body kit to make a new front valance for my 94 mazda truck.)

People are always going to tell you to do things different but in the end it's up to you. Tuners, Kustoms, Hot Rods they all have the same thing in common. The owners wish to make their stuff stand out.

Then there's the other side of it. How far do you want to take it? Will wheels and tires be enough or will you want to go nuts. that's the biggest question you need to ask yourself.

Good luck!

I'd go with all of the above - new paint job, new wheel covers or rims, and lowering. Just don't lower it so much you hit bottom on speed bumps! I've got a '96 Accord myself - but i'm just going to paint the wheel covers Kelly green. Honest! So I can find it in the parking lots amongst all the other nondescript designs of that era.
