I have a 1998 Firebird that leaks antifreeze. It seems to puddle at the intake. It looks like a water plug close to this point. Could this be the problem? Any other ideas? Thanks!

1998 Fort Escort.

Its not the thermostat - just replaced that two months ago.

It works only *sometimes*

I can feel heat wanting to come out of the vents, but the blowers don't come on.

Very seldomly, it will work for like ten minutes or so, then shuts off on its own.

What is it?

My girlfriend has a 1998 peugeot 206 with 85,000 miles. She bought the car just over a year ago. Over the last year the car has required the rear wheel brakes to be worked on 5 times. 3 of these times have been because the left rear wheel brake cylinder has burst, leaving her with no brakes. Most of the times the cylinder has burst has been during a longish journey (2+ hours). With all 5 times the handbrake has needed to be adjusted as it was rising up too high.

Could this repeated damage be in some way related to her driving style? When in the car with her I can't see anything wrong with her driving, she doesn't use the brakes excessively. However the mechanic that we have been using is trying to blame the repeated problems on her driving style.

If not her driving style, can anyone suggest another reason as to why this keeps occurring and what can be done about it?

Thanks.

I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee and about a year ago, it would surge and buck when I put in the regular unleaded. I have to get High Octane and it runs fine. It didn't really concern me but now I want to sell it, so I need to fix this problem. Any idea what is wrong with it? How do I fix it?

I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE2 with a 2.2L ecotec engine, and i bought it recently of a car lot in July of this year, everything worked as good as new but its used with 84,000 miles.

A few weeks ago the car started to show problems in the right Headlight it started with the light not turning on anymore, at times i would check and i noticed how the right headlight turned off and then sudden on it would do that when i would turn the headlights on at night it didn't blink it only did that at the beginning, then one day the light just wouldn't turn on anymore.

Could it be the light that has a worn out bulb or the fuse? can anyone help me how i can tell the difference between a worn out light or a fuse?

If the fuse is the problem can anyone help me how i can fix it myself if its an easy task?

Today, I was reading over the manual for my standard car. Somewhere in the manual I read that you should not rest your foot on the clutch pedal. The thing is, I do that but im not sure to what extent.( I don't actively pay attention to what im doing with my foot while driving)

For me, it feels uncomfortable to have my left foot off to the side. If i need to quickly come to a stop or shift gears quickly, I dont feel at home going the extra 3 inches to the right(to the clutch).

My questions to you are:
Is this riding the clutch?
Where do you keep your left foot?

Thanks

I have full coverage insurance on my car where I live in Kansas. My boyfriend has liability insurance on his truck. We both have valid drivers licenses. His truck is not working and we do not have the money to fix it. We have been sharing my car. He is not included on my policy though. If he drives my car and gets in a wreck is it covered? What if he gets pulled over? As long as he has his proof of insurance and drivers license is it ok for him to drive my car?

Im just confused how this works. I was going to buy a new chevy from an authorized dealer and my credit ran for a 8.99 percent for 5 and half yr financing term. But i decided against the new car and found a good used car i want from a private dealer and when he ran my credit he was saying its good and gave me a 11.9 for 5 year term. I think thats pretty high. I understand when you finance a used car for a SHORTER term they usually raise the interest rate. But im financing a 5 year and 3 month term...i think 11.9 percent is a high interest rate. The car is a little over 13, 000 (with the extended warranty, taxes, and registration included) with a 3,000 deposit. Does anyone know what my percent rate really should be with good credit?

I have seen where NASA and the FAA has spent a lot of resources on developing a robotic small plane that can nearly fly itself with little intervention from the passengers, to make them more like cars, than what they are now which require special training and licenses to fly, even as a sport pilot.

I think it would be cool to have a plane in the garage as well, that I could jet off, especially here in Texas where going 50 miles is normal for just about doing anything.

How long do you think we are from really getting small planes to the average person, that could side as a car for getting around?

I have toyed around with some of the kit planes, and the Zenith STOL CH-701 and 801 would be great candidates for cheap, reliable aircraft that could be flown out of short run ways, a plane that I could take off in my own back yard at present. Runs on car gas, and wings can be made to fold. http://www.zenithair.com/stolch701/index1.html

If you were looking for a pre 1981 car or truck that is good on gas and fun to drive what would you look at? I thought about a bug and even found a datsun. I ride motorcycles but looking for something that is before emmisions around here and fun to drive. I am open to all kind of car ideas that fit into this and would be cheap.
