I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE2 with a 2.2L ecotec engine, and i bought it recently of a car lot in July of this year, everything worked as good as new but its used with 84,000 miles.

A few weeks ago the car started to show problems in the right Headlight it started with the light not turning on anymore, at times i would check and i noticed how the right headlight turned off and then sudden on it would do that when i would turn the headlights on at night it didn't blink it only did that at the beginning, then one day the light just wouldn't turn on anymore.

Could it be the light that has a worn out bulb or the fuse? can anyone help me how i can tell the difference between a worn out light or a fuse?

If the fuse is the problem can anyone help me how i can fix it myself if its an easy task?

I would first replace the bulb and while at it check the wiring that connects to the bulb. If the light did at one point flash that would indicate that the fuse, if the lamp has one is good. Many of the headlights run from a fuselink instead of a fuse it self. Sounds like a connection problem right behind the headleamp. Most auto experts suggest to replace both headlamps at the same time, for if one is weak or bad the other will usually follow in a short time.

I would first check the fuses by pulling off the fuse cover under the driver dash (above your knees or on the left side by driver door) when sitting in seat. Just pull each fuse out with needle nose pliers and see if the metal link is melted in half; if you find one that is melted, just take an extra fuse from the cover and replace it. If no burned fuses, just go to any auto parts store and ask for a replacement bulb for your model of car (it shouldn't cost more than about $10). Once you lift your hood up, it is generally a simple matter to remove the existing bulb by twisting the bulb assembly and then squeeze clip to pull off bulb and pop new bulb into place.

Put a bulb in and quit messing around. If it were a fuse, it wouldn't have come back on. It's either the bulb or the wiring and the bulb is all you sound like you have a chance to fix yourself. If the connector that plugs into the bulb is rusted spray it with WD-40 and plug the bulb in and out several times to make sure the connection is making contact.

IN many cars the grounds are separate from each other, Head lites often use a short wire to the body next to the lamp assembly. Removing the screw / bolt and sanding the contact area will restore the light. And a bit of paint will keep it from rusting for a while.
