My timing belt just went in my 1988 325iC. I was quoated a price of about $1800 to repair, that is if its the valves and the heads, pistons. The car has about 270,000 miles on her. Is this worth fixing and is this a good price. This is American dollars and the repair shop has lots of exp. with BMW and Porches

My experience is that the thermostat blocks and once its blocked water does not circulate and the car overheats.

Hi,
Of course everyone would have seen long streaks of smoke coming out from engines when aircrafts are flying. I would like to know why such long streaks of smoke are created when aircrafts are flying? see below link for a sample photo -

Hi, fancy a Grand Espace, circa 2005.

Test drove a 2.2 diesel auto, no go at all and that was just with me and sales rep on board.

Want to tow my caravan, carry 6 bikes {on the roof} plus wife & kids and enough stuff in the boot for upto 5 weeks away.

The 3.0 and indeed 2.2 Ren diesels keep blowing up, the turbos go pop every 30 to 50k - so I read !!

They also do a 3.5 V6 petrol unit, made by Nissan, as used in the mighty Nissan 350Z and many USA Nissan cars.

The renault Grand Espace 3.5 will do almost 30 MPG on a good day {only a bit less than my old Volvo 2.3 RWD petrol} and goes like stink!! Test drove one, went home to think about it, phoned up to say I'd have it, but been sold 20 mins earlier!!

Does anyone have a 3.5 Esapce or indeed owt with a 3.5 Nissan Petrol engine. - If so any probs with the engine?

I'll only do 5k to 7k yr in it, so will only cost about £300 to £400 to run more than a diesel. Used pertol versions sell for less too.

I went off to college this August, and I lived in Alaska, where I left my '96 Chevy Blazer. Well, my parents never so much as started the thing up when I was gone, and now it won't start. The battery is so dead it won't even accept a charge from a trickle charger, and I remember that the last time I let it sit for about 4 months in the winter, the battery died too. Does the extreme cold do this, or is the problem with my car's charging system?

My husband and I were looking for a decent economical 4 cylinder pickup to run around in and we found one from our local used car dealer. We used a privately obtained loan as this was a cash dealer, he does not do financing. It has been 5 weeks, he has had to reissue a sales contract so we could get our second set of temp tags. If we are unable to get a title by the middle of next month, are we justified in asking for a refund of our purchase price as well as any interest we have paid? Is this a common occurence? This dealer has been in business for over 40 years and this is a small town. He bought the truck from a dealers auction in another town and state. Thanks for any assistance!

Hello, Im 15 now. And getting close to my day where I get a licence...

I am getting my windows tinted very soon, and I wanted to see if there was someone out there with any knowledge on how hard it is too see out of at night, on any tint. I want to get the darkest possible, but I dont want to have to roll down my windows to make a turn. Thanks in advance.

okay now, i got a 89 chevy 350 tbi and i have no fire. i replaced coil, ignition module, and i have juice to the coil but no juice from the coil. what else could it be? its not a fuel problem. please help, any knowledge. also cap and roter is good.

This happened November 2006. They were the ones at fault and the damage was cosmetic only. Their insurance company cut me a check. I never cashed it because I believed it to be a bit under what it should have been. I had planned on getting an estimate and returning to them if the check was not enough, but it was a very busy year and I never got around to it. Now its been over a year and the check is no longer good. Will they reissue the check, or am I out of luck because I waited this long? Oh yea, this happened in the bay area, California.
