U.S. Fuel prices are displayed with a 9/10 after the main price, ie: 3.27 9/10. If I requested one gallon exactly, my change should be 1/10 of a penny. Right? What if I did in fact only want one gallon of fuel and I have $3.28 on me, how do I get my change?

If the average annual car mileage is 10,000 miles. How many of those miles would be for journeys that it are essential to made by car?.

That is, how many of the car miles could have been avoided by going by train or bus or walking and how many could have been avoided by simply not going there in the first place?

Perhaps we should go back to having pubs, schools, shops, synagogues, factories and offices all within walking distance.

... of the wiper arm appears to be stripped smooth. Shouldn't the seat have small teeth that lock onto the spline of the motor shaft? The good wiper arm (which I also took off) appears to be smooth too. Maybe all I need to do is tighten it real good?

I know they have to thwart casual vandals, but given that you are working from inside the car, it can't be beyond the wit of man to design something that's intuitive and doesn't require tools.

somebody told me that i should lock my car doors when i get into my car because somebody could try to rob/hijack me when i stop at a junction or traffic lights....

however i live in quite a safe area and i worry that if i was to have an accident, if the doors were locked people wouldn't be able to open to door to get me out.

what do you think is best to do?
