Instrument lights and parking lights are usually wired to the same fuse. Check your fuse block (located either under the left dashboard area-in the glovebox or under the hood. Look for a fuse labeled "Park/inst" or similar and I bet you'll find that one's blown. Old fuses get weak and fail (heat/cold cycles/metal fatigue) after a few years-there's probably no electrical fault causing it. Install a new fuse of the same current rating and you'll be good to go.

There's a relay for that under the dash somewhere. I don't know the Aurora very well, but I can tell you many GM cars from that time had electrical problems. My bro has an 98 Regal & both the cruise control & key less entry don't work. Who know why. They're not essential systems so he doesn't bother fixing them. But, you need your lights. Have a Buick dealer look at it. It's the best GM place to go since the Olds franchise shut down. G'luck.

Check the fuses. If that's not it I'd go for the headlight switch next. The dash lights and running lights should be on the same circuit. If the fuse is blown check for water or rust in the running lights.

this car has 4 different fuse panels (1) on the drivers side panel between the door,(2) under the hood in the front on the passenger side, and (3) and (4) are located under the back seat inside the car.If i had to pick a place to start I would look there since that's where most of the relay(s) and fuses are located..good luck

Whew... 12 year old car. Electrical problems. I would try the Headlight switch, since that's the only common link between the light in the guage cluster and the exterior lights.
You need to go to the junkyard and yank one though. That car is too old to be spending untold sums of $$$$ at it. When you get these electrical gremlins in these old cars, you find yourself throwing parts at it trying to chase that demon.
