I've always just used regular oil in my 03 Toyota Corolla but just once i tried using the mobile one oil that's suppose to last 15,000 miles. I only used it once but would it be bad for my car in any way to switch back to regular oil?

When you put the car in reverse there is approx 8 - 10 second delay prior to the transmission engaging reverse. This is on the automatic Santa Fe 2006 model.

I'm including myself, by the way. Just today I witnessed a bad wreck caused by a gal running a red light, but it could have been prevented if the guy who got hit would have just looked both ways and saw her coming like I did. Just two days ago, less than a mile away, the exact same thing happened, only that time a cop got hit by a drunk driver running a red light, the drunk was killed, the cop is pretty messed up. Not to excuse drunks and red light runners, but both wrecks may have been prevented by a little more defensive driving and a quick glance left and right before hitting the gas. Instead, four cars are totaled, three people are injured, one is dead, all in a span of 48 hours.

This is a terribly dorky odd question, but I thought I'd ask for opinions. I've been thinking about getting a personalized license plate, but here's the thing: there are no special characters allowed on California plates. What I want really needs a period/dot to "work". Do you think I could get away with just putting a little dot sticker on my license plate? It wouldn't touch or cover any number/letter. I certainly don't want to be pulled over because I've "defaced my plate" or some such crap, though I couldn't find anything about it online, other than that the plate needs to be mounted properly and fully visible, which it would be. Is that asking for trouble and taking a chance, or do the cops have better things to do than worry about a dot on a license plate? :^)

The 2002 Honda XRM has a wiring problem, miswired by the last owner. The voltage rectifier/regulator has a green wire (this I know is ground), red (this I know, goes to battery), yellow, and white. The stator does have a yellow and white output wire, one producing a max of about 12Vac, the other a max of about 20Vac, both apparently relative to ground [don't ask me why this stator is wired relative to ground. I see that the stator also has two other wires right now leading to some kind of electrical box linked to the spark plug coil, one high voltage, one low voltage. Should they both be connected to the voltage regulator? Or should one go to the front headlights also? or to front headlights only? Should there be a "12v Switched" wire from the ignition to the voltage regulator? Basically the main question is "where exactly should the yellow and white wires into the voltage regulator come from"?

Thanks!!
Peter

I have a 1988 Ford Taurus that has 475,000 North American Miles on it. It's been to Alaska, Canada, NYC, and Mexico City. It's an Orange County CA/Southern California car so corrosion in none existant. That car has been meticulously maintained.

Did Ford Motor Company put a limit to how many miles you can put on their car before it's the end of it's usefull life cycle?

The Engine and transmission are original. It's has had struts, brakes, tires, muffler, catalytic converter, drivers seat, wheel bearings, and CV joints replace though. Also no accidents. Body and paint are perfect. Original paint since I always wax it. The car gets 27 miles per gallon. The car was once used for long distance delivery of specialized goods. That would account for much of the miles.

Im very intrested in getting a newer dodge ram 1500 regular cab 4x4. . I'm not sure if anyone has had firsthand experience but it seems like a used ram is a lot cheaper without the hemi. Would something else still be quick and enjoyabe . Like a different v8. Or is it not worth sparing?

My car is VAN NISSAN Quest 1999, there is a light says "Service engine soon". The PCM has determined that a malfunction exists in the electrical circuit for knock sensor 1. Probable Causes: 1. knock sensor defective 2. Ignition system fault-spark plugs, ignition wires, coil 3. Vacuum leak 4. Injector fault 4. High or low fuel pressure. The mechanics told me that I have to replace the knock sensor. is it true or not, thank you,,,

I helped a friend of mine buy a used car about a month and a helf ago. She got a really good deal, on a '03 Elantra in great condition. Just a few days ago a faint smell started coming from the back seats. In just three days since we first noticed it, it has become unbearable.

It is an unmistakable smell of disposable diapers, as though the previous owner left a stack of wet ones on the seat. The guy who sold it to us had it professionally cleaned, but that obviously didn't do the job... any ideas?

I recently change the timing belt, accessories belts, and water pump without changing the thermostat. Would the thermostat create problems in the future? Thanks very much for your help.

I went to a local Triumph dealership. They convinced me to sign on the dotted line for a new Daytona 675. I started it up on the showroom floor and it sounded fine. After signing the paperwork and heading out while they were closing up, I noticed a small puddle of fluid underneath the bike. I immediately asked the saleperson about it and he assured me that the maintenance dept was going to go over it with a fine tooth comb, however, after getting home, deep down inside I don't feel that the leak was a good sign.

I won't take physical possession of the bike until we arrange delivery for it possibly on the first business day after the new year. I called and left a message for them to hold my paperwork, because it still had to be signed off on by mngmt, and I wanted to speak with the manager about my concerns. I really want out of the deal. Is that unreasonable?
