You cannot use perspex for your screen firstly because it would be illegal.Secondly it would scratch too easily and unless it was totally flat it would cost you more to get one made than an original 'glass' one!
Windscreens do more than just keep the flys out your teeth!
They are designed to prevent stones and other debris from coming through and smacking you in the face. That's why they're made of a 'Laminate' i.e 2 layers of glass and a polyvynil interlayer. They also need to be optically correct. Hope this helps!

That is a 100% no no no.Your car would not meet the required safety standards to pass its m.o.t with perspex as a windscreen.

when a windscreen breaks it shatters into millions of little blobs,a piece of prespect breaking could leave you with a sharp jagged piece sticking in your throught/chest,as would a piece of plane glass.
