This happened November 2006. They were the ones at fault and the damage was cosmetic only. Their insurance company cut me a check. I never cashed it because I believed it to be a bit under what it should have been. I had planned on getting an estimate and returning to them if the check was not enough, but it was a very busy year and I never got around to it. Now its been over a year and the check is no longer good. Will they reissue the check, or am I out of luck because I waited this long? Oh yea, this happened in the bay area, California.

Sure, if the check is staledated, contact the company. Tell them you never cashed it. They may require that you send it back, and once the receive it, they can issue a new check to you.

Happens all the time. Hope this helps!

Yes, they should. I had a similar thing happen and I just called. Once they verified the check had never cleared, they sent out a new one. I too live in California. If you have any trouble with them, your own insurance office should help you out with advice on what to do. Hopefully, it will go smooth and you will get a new check. Best of luck!

I would contact the insurance company and ask them. Most will give you a new check, but I have heard of some that will not. Good Luck
