If you replaced the radio with an aftermarket radio, you disrupted the anti-theft system. It depends on the make and model to determine how the circuit runs. It may or may not be related.

On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in the system, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with the airbag light system. When the light is on (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in an accident. These systems can only be diagnosed using a scanner designed for the airbag system. The scanners at Auto Zone or the ones that sell for @ $50 will not access the airbag system, only the engine systems (check engine light).
This website gives you the procedure for diagnosing and resetting some systems without a scanner. Some vehicle manufacturers accommodate that (like Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Honda, Acura, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda & Mercury) and some require a scan tool. http://www.airbagsolutions.com/
Check out these websites also for more info on airbag systems and the light.

If you are sure you didn't splice into a wire for the srs air bag system then you need to go to a dealer and have the system scanned for codes. If you say you connected the wires to the same color and code does that mean you went to the same exact wires that were used for the other radio? If you just picked out wires that were the color in the diagram for the new unit I would bet you got the wrong wire. Get it fixed before you blow the air bags and end up with a $1,000.00 repair bill. It would be a long shot for the air bag system to suddenly have a problem that was not the direct result of you're radio work. The air bag connectors are yellow where they run in the wiring loom. I'd disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait 60 seconds before messing around anymore and disconnect the new radio if there is any question about the wiring you're not sure of.

Whoa! Your in an illegal situation. And a dangerous one that is going to get very costly.
You can short a wire and set off the airbag. That destroys the car value and maybe hurts or kills you.
While you can, drive it to a dealer and let them fix your mistake
To begin with, there is a power supply in the module that will set off the airbag with the battery disconnected.............
You may even have to have it towed.

Might look back under the dash and see if you might have distured any of the wiring going to the passanger airbag. Please disconnect the battery before attempting. All that the owner should do is be sure all plugs are connected together. Any thing more and a repetuable mechanic who is very familure with these systems should look in to it.

You didn't give information about your vehicle so this is hard to say. You may have interfered with the air bag system during installation of your radio. I wouldn't fix myself if I were you because you might deploy the airbag accidentally. Take you car the dealer.
