I was looking for a motorcycle helmet. Which ones are good? also taking into consideration the wind noise. What is the proper way to measure what size I am (head)?

I'm doing a research for my course , comparing this service in my country to which in the USA ...and more specifically about the private and commercial cars... a claim saying that USA's provisions are strictly applied ..i.e the son driving his father private car is not entitled to any compensation in case an accident is occurred .....because it's not the "son" car..(which at the same time is not going the same way here ...as long as the car is insured so anyone drive it is insured ..regardless of the owner of the car...and just there it is the debate point...what do you think about it ?
so ,I'll appreciate if you could feed me with any thoughts any idea any information any links concerning that or even automobile insurance in general...

A minivan rental car backed into my motorcycle today and caused a whole bunch of damage.

Is it possible my insurance rates will go up even if I'm not at fault? Because the bike was parked when this happened (no one driving) do I need to tell insurance companies about it when shopping for a new policy?

I have a 2001 ford ranger 4cyl, 5sp standard bed, and just picked up a 12ft (looks smaller) 1965 Santa Fe camp trailer. I towed it home no problem, but the trailer hitch is too low, and makes the rear end of the trailer visibly hang down. is this a bad way to tow it? Is there some way to mount a lower ball on the "step bumper" of my 2001 ranger? I went to
Walmart and they had some 2 1/2 inch "drop down" parts, but the "bolt hole" in those are horizontal, ie, that part would not hook to my bumper where the current ball is....any ideas please?

My wife and I are in the infant stages of planning a global circumnavigation. We haven't done any cruising to speak of so we don't know what to expect as far as expenses.

By expenses I don't mean typical groceries and exchange rates. What I'm looking for is slip rent or mooring fees and such. It will be for a 36' monohull.

About how much can we plan on spending? I've heard/read amounts in the range of $600.00/ month to $2,000.00/ month. Like I said, we're in the early stages so approximations from folks who have "been there- done that" would be great!

It squeals when I drive and gets louder when i go over bumps and when I steer in either direction. I thought it was my fan belt but I replaced it yesterday and it is still doing it today so that is ruled out. It sounds like it is coming from directly below me or from the back passenger side (i'm right hand drive). It stops this really loud noise when I break (so if I drive past a group of people I break slightly because I am getting so embarrased at people turning round to look at what is causing the noise - oh the shame) Its only an N reg Punto but I am now worried it might be something serious and dont fancy hurtling along the motorway every day to work if the engine is going to fall out. I dont know if its all in my mind now but I am sure my steering sometimes goes and I can feel a slight loss of power to the car. Do you think a wheel may be loose or my steering is faulty. It only got MOT'd 2 months ago. Should I just scrap it?..teehee

A retired mechanic who lives in my neighborhood we call old man Bud is always coming up with some of the most fantastic claims. Once he told me to put about a half an ounce of brake fluid in my power steering unit to stop it from leaking.
I did not try it, because some people say old man Bud makes this stuff up.
I bought a over the counter stop leak and it slowed the leak down some but occasionally I have to add stop leak.
A old mechanic in the parts store a noticed me buying power steering stop leak and told me to try brake fluid.
He said put it in at night with the engine running, turn the wheels left and right and cut the car off and leave it to sit over night.
I did and the leak stopped !
Do old people know everything?

I got a ticket from the police 2 years ago when I was 15 and a half. I am now 18 and I recently got my license, but when I applied for auto insurance it was 150 dollars more than usual because of the point court gave me for jaywalking 2 years ago. Did they make a mistake or can they really do that? It had nothing to do with driving! Now, I can't drive because I can't afford my insurance and they told me it'll take 3 years until it's completely off my record. I'm screwed! Anybody have any suggestions on who I should complain to or if they can really do that! It'll help a lot! thanks.

I know my product and sell pretty well , but I try to make my customers feel at ease and allow them to leave the showroom sometimes before finding their reasons for not buying.I want to make it easier for my customers to get the best deal but they seem to think that we(salesmen) always have something up our sleeves.Still I cannot seem to break that 15-18 car/month threshold.Anyone have any advice?

I recently passed a local MSF course and bought the book Proficient Motorcycling, and I'm a bit confused. I thought countersteering involved me pushing down on the handle bar grip in the direction I wanted to go. For example, push right, go right.

Maybe I'm reading something wrong here, but the book is telling me to push that grip forward, rather than push down on it, which would force my steering wheel to go to the left if I want to countersteer to the right.

Any help?

Hi,

I just got a 2007 honda nighthawk and i have a few questions.

#1
At what speed should i change gears if i am on flat land ( i am 150 pounds ) like should i get into 2nd at 15 mph?

#2 then i use the front break i have to pull the brake in about a centimeter befor it actually starts to apply the break, is this normal?

#3 the first time i started it up i kinda heard a wirling noise from the engine as it idled, is this normal?

# 4this is an important one.... I started the bike with the choke on, it was a 9 am after a cold night. I let it warm up ( in just idleing) for a about 7 mins. Then i slowly pushed the choke closed. The bike dies when it is almost completly closed. If i gas it a lil as i close the choke it does not die, what up with that?
#5 my brother also uses the same nighthawk ( i got 2 of them at the same time so same dealer set them up) and he has trouble finding nutral when stoped... is this cuz we don't know what we are doing ( i know 1 down 2 up..)TY
