I'm driving a Toyota Corolla Altis. Will driving 140 to 150km/h hurt my engine in any ways? other than the increase in fuel consumption? I've tried at that high speed for fun for about a min or less. FYI, It's top speed is about 185km/h. I'm quite new to engine stuffs, please pardon me. = )

Hi my name is Tim Clark and I just recently bought a 1996 chevy impala ss for 1200 dollars but here's the catch the engine caught on fire and burned the top part of the engine everything is lost on top but i belive the engine is still goodbut here is my question I also own a 1994 chevy caprice and i was wondering can I take everything out of my capricr and put it in my impala because my car has a digital dash and the impala has a analog plus the floor shifter if so please let me know because I really don't want to part it out and put everything on my caprice. What is it you want? Is it that you think the speed limits are too low or that there shouldn't be any at all? It seems that no matter what the limit there is always someone breaking it. I am so sick of being tailgated because I stick to the speed limit and I want to know why some people think they are such great drivers they can do this. I have noticed that these drivers are great on the straight but can't keep up on corners/bends. If they learned to drive properly they wouldn't need to break the limits. They overtake at the most dangerous times, if they want to commit suicide take an overdose or something else that won't take others with them.
So .. what do you want?

i am planning to go on a trip around the USA in july/august and i was thinking about renting or buying a used car. i want it to be the cheapest ever :) so i don't want to spend more than $1200 and i would like to sell it at the end of the trip. i would arrive from Spain to New York city.
1) is it possible to buy a used car even if being a foreigner? do i need some special documents?
2) do you recommend buying o renting? which is more economical?
3)if buying, where would you recommend me to look? in location or by web site.
4)is it better to buy once outside NYC (economical)? where would it be a good place to buy?
5) i looked on craigslist and some cars cost like $40 or less, what is the swindle?
6)which type of car would you recommend? one that doesn't consume a lot of fuel. Diesel, gasoline?
7) do you know anyone who has travelled that way?
