it's getting that time of year that the deer are out and about more often. i'd like to know what experiences/opinions people have with the $5 deer whistles that attach to autos.

They work about as well as the ultra sonic rodent chaser.

I don't have any way to know for certain, but animals seem to look up and run away earlier when I put them on than without. I suppose it's impossible to truly predict what a specific animal is going to do when they hear the sound from the deer whistles. I am quite confident that they (along with many other animals) do seem to hear it.

It's worth noting that the whistles don't work below a certain speed, but I'm not sure what it is.

I do think they work, however the cheap plastic ones break really easily. They also make it hard to wash the car around them to get bug gunk off.

I would get the more expensive metal ones if I lived in deer country again. I would mount them in a way that they could be easily removed and reinstalled. Maybe glued to some sort of spring loaded chip, then clip them to the grill or under the bumper maybe.

Most of the time, yes but during the rut season, most bucks could care less about any noise if they're after a doe so don't always bet on them working.

YES THEY DO BUT IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO PURCHASE A SET BUY THE ONES THAT ARE A LITTLE MORE HEAVY DUTY, THEY WILL LAST LONGER AND ALSO WONT BREAK OFF.
