The hard part is getting the door panel off without wreaking the fasteners that hold it on. A thin stiff piece of metal with a deep u shaped notch in it is useful for plying the panel off at the fastener.

You will be able to buy new fasteners at a large autoparts store, as they often break when pryed out. Work slowly and carefully. Try your local library for auto repair how to books, sometimes they will even have car specific manuals. The junkyard may not have the exact same mirror. You can substitute a different similar looking mirror as long as the base where it joins the door is as large or larger than the original.

If you take it to a shop you will pay a bunch as this job can be time consuming.

I have done this myself twice, with good results and only minimal knuckle bleeding.

Good luck.

The easiest thing to do would be to get the mirrors of an old dump truck and install them on your car. You can bolt these onto the body from the outside. If, however, you want an OEM mirror then you have to take the door panels off and bolt it on from the inside. That's tricky because the door panels are made from 10 seperate pieces of plastic are filled with electronics. You can probably get a mirror through Advance or Autozone, a dealership, or junkyard.

I would go to an auto wrecker & remove one. Then you can find out the best way to remove it from your car with out breaking any of the plastic parts.

Hint: Keep all the little bits of the junk door (wrecker) such as door panel push in clips, handle linkage clips ect. All these little parts can be difficult to locate.
