when you really get on the gas it feels like its slipping similar to an automatic trans. when it slips. my mechanic took it for a test drive for only two feet and said the clutch was shot. i know my clutch isnt perfect but it still feels like it has for a long time. could it be something else or am i finally seeing the effects of a bad clutch?

I am looking for a scooter 50cc to 250cc for on and off road fun. I want it to have extra big fat wheels. I remember in the early 1990's a guy i knew had a scooter i dont remember the brand it could have been yamaha, honda, or suzuki any way the scooter had realy extra big fat wheels like the ones on ATV's maybe a little smaller it looked cool and fun to ride. Does any one know of a scooter with big fat wheels on it or do you have to do some kind of conversion to a scooter to put extra big fat wheels on. All i see on the internet from the regular scooter companies are scooters with small thin wheels. The honda rucus is the only scooter i find with wheels a little bigger but i dont like the way it looks.

I met with an accident the other day where a drunk guy hit me at the rear end of my totyotal avalon. there is considerable body work to be done. i dont know if there may be any mechaninical problem with the car. The guy who hit me had insurance from progressive company. Progressive gave me two options: either repair the car with their own service providers where they give me life time guarantee on repairs and parts but have told me that they may use remanufactured parts or used parts for repair. The other option is to go to the toyota dealer and have the car repaired with new parts. In this case I will have to live with the warranty the toyotal dealer will give me on the parts. WHICH OPTION IS USUALLY RECOMMONEDED :TO GET THE CAR REPAIRED WITH PROGRESSIVE OR WITH TOYOTAL DEALER OR IS THERE A THIRD OPTION? i am not much experienced with repairs from accidents so any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

Hey everyone,

Ok, I've been driving for 4 years, conviction free and recently I was caught doing 38mph in a 30 zone and was convicted of speeding (given 3 penalty points).

I accept fault for this and I'm not expecting any sympathy, as speeding is bad! However, it is my first conviction and my car insurance is coming up for renewal in 3 months.

Please don't take offence to this question, but do I need to declare this speeding offence and will the insurance company be able to check with the DVLA?

I have a friend who's been disqualified from driving who was still able to get car insurance despite being disqualified, which is odd, because I would have thought that the insurance companies would have access to your driving records. Is this right?

I have a 2002 Chevy Impala just he base model. It has a stock 3.4L engine putting out 184hp. I would really like to get more power out of an engine that size, I know its capable of better horse power. I know I can change out the headers and get better ones, but I would like to get some get good suggestion to really improve the performance. I was looking into Superchargers, but I am not completely sold on the idea. I'd like to if it would produce good results, but will it, that I do not know.

I do not want to do an engine swap.

Thanks in advance everyone!

I've heard many times that Diesel engines last longer than gas engines, especially when talking about Trucks.

Is it true? What is the actual reason for this? Is it true for trucks only, or also for cars?

Thanks for the info!

If I was driving on a road, and the highest speed posted that I could drive was 40 MPH, would it be okay if I drove 35 MPH on that road, without getting stopped by the police for driving too slow?

I live in the state of Michigan.

I live in Inkster, Michigan a suburb of Detroit, Michigan.

OK, here is the problem. I have a compleatly custom exhaust on my 1998 3.8L V6 Camaro. It has Headers, 3" exhaust pipes and a Magna-Flow cat-back exhaust system. However, I am still left with the stock catalytic converter. How much is that holding my car back? Is there any way I can modify the stock cat to make it more "high flow"?

**Must pass PA emmissions inspection!! (can not cause "check engine light")**

Would I be better off just purchasing a high flow cat? any suggestions on what to look for?

My friend has a 1977 Honda CB550 with a dead battery and instead of getting a new battery we were going to try jumping it. I have a GMC Sierra 1500. Would this work or will we blow up the motorcycle?

I took the power head off and I see the linkage but I'm still at a loss on how to get the lower unit off. Its a jbend (the actual rod that runs down the exhaust housing) shifter linkage that I don't believe will make it all the way down the housing....man its a lot of work just to replace a little starfish.....

Truck: 2000 F-150
This just started recently, and after a short while, my battery went dead. I got a new battery, but the problem persists. When the truck starts, the speedo races all the way up, along with the tachometer. Then they come back down to zero after a couple of seconds.
