If there are standards for engine mounts, I can imagine doing engine swaps between certain types of engines for a particular model would be much easier than if you have to fabricate new mounts for every engine swap that is to be performed.

Last summer my air conditioning worked very well and when it came time to start using it this summer it wouldn't work. I thought it was a leak in the system somewhere so I went and got the things to recharge it. I did that but when I tried to check the pressure in the system I noticed that the compressor wasn't working. I thought that was the problem but over some time I was messing around with some relays and I got the compressor to come back on, but still the cold air is not working it just blows warm air. Any ideas?

the screw that holds the axel down and tight for my rollerblade wheel is stripped. the regular tool to get it out is a 5/32 hex, but now that it is stripped, i cannot get any grip with it (obviously). The next step is way too big. I dont really have many tools around the house. I dont want to damage the chassis or the wheel. I dont mind damaging the bearing because they are going to be replaced anyways. What can i do? Vise grips wont work since the screw is inbedded into the chassis.

My friend bought one recently dumped it short after (reason varies depends on who you talk to.. haha)....
Question... The bike has two headlights (not just one centered), but one is out. He insists that it's supposed to be like that (and that it only comes on when he puts on his brights) but I think it has something to do with the accident...

Does the yamaha R6S only run one headlight when the bike is on or is he clueless?? If you know, do you know if there is somewhere online I can show him?

Why do people waste their time and money on the instant fix additives sold at the auto parts store? Are people so dumb they think that a can of liquid will save them thousands of dollars by doing an instant engine rebuild? What do you think of such products?

I just got a 1992 325i and figured installing my cd player would be no different than the past 5 cars I've had... I was wrong.. I cut the wires and got the negative and positive wires spliced (so it turns on now when you start the car) but I can't seem to figure out how the speakers hook up, since I've tried just about every combination of colored wires together. The speakers on this car are definitely wired differently and possibly to a factory amplifier somewhere. I would appreciate it if someone could send me a link to a wiring diagram for this radio or something cause my last resort is re-wiring the speakers :-( and I wanna avoid that at all costs!
Thank you!!!!!

He works at autozone. Today after talking for awhile he said he'd fix my stuff for me (in his friends garage). I said really, is $100 ok.. won't it take 5-6 hours? He said $100 is fine and it should only take 3-4 hours. The work is being done on a Ford Focus.

Is $100 okay, is that being generous or greedy? My uncle could do it for 100 so that's what I offered him. He probably makes $7/hr at autozone.. or at least another guy I know makes that much there.

I have a 1997 Ford Explorer and I noticed that when I get up to speeds like 55mph and more there is a very loud rattling sound coming from under the hood. Is this a sign of a bad rod? Also when I am turning or backing up there is a creaking noise (almost like popping popcord but on slow) coming from under the truck.

For a minute or so almost every day my Focus gives a cough and the speedo stops working. The engine continues to run as normal and then the speedo starts again. What causes this. I have a colleague who experiences the same thing with her Focus.

The car was taking a minute to start, but I drove it anyway. I stopped at a garage sale and it wouldn't start back up. The guy who was running the garage sale helped a little, he opened up the battery and it was super corroded. It looked like a half inch of crystals were growing all over the connections. He poured baking soda and water all over it, and it helped. He couldnt get the cables off the battery. (My husband says that he never touched it because it still worked, even though it looked bad) The cables are a little short, so I dont think I can cut them and put another battery in.
We jumped the car and it started, but about 10 seconds after we removed the cables the car died. We tried that twice.
The guy finally drove me and my baby home, now I have to figure out what to do.
I could try to replace the battery myself, but I dont know how to get the cables off.
Towing is really expensive.
It is a 2000 ford focus (yes- i know that is my problem!)
What do I do?

I read on a lot of reviews that people ended up paying crazy money all the time just to fix this and that. The reviews gave it 7/10 expert and 8.5/10 user. Is this still a safe buy or will I end up paying crazy amounts of money all the time just for repairs.

The dealership sells the bolts for 75.00 but can't I use other types of bolts that would work just as well and be cheaper? What types recommended? Any advice ? thanks
