My friend bought one recently dumped it short after (reason varies depends on who you talk to.. haha)....
Question... The bike has two headlights (not just one centered), but one is out. He insists that it's supposed to be like that (and that it only comes on when he puts on his brights) but I think it has something to do with the accident...

Does the yamaha R6S only run one headlight when the bike is on or is he clueless?? If you know, do you know if there is somewhere online I can show him?

All Jap sport bikes are like that now.
One side on, for low beam.
Both sides on, for high beam.
I think the reasoning is to only use single filament bulbs (don't quote me on that. I never really thought about it long enough to check).

I don't know for sure but I think your friend is correct. I have had a few Hondas with the same two headlight arrangement and they worked the same way. Both only came on when the brights were on. It got annoying at first when everyone and his brother tells you that you have a burnt out headlight. I bet you could check utube out to find a video to confirm what I think.

By UK law all bikes must display headlights, most new bikes, even mopeds now come with 2 headlights, so one is always lit up, the second one will only be lit up when he turns it on at the headlight switch. So... your wrong n his bike is ok. lol
