I just got a 1992 325i and figured installing my cd player would be no different than the past 5 cars I've had... I was wrong.. I cut the wires and got the negative and positive wires spliced (so it turns on now when you start the car) but I can't seem to figure out how the speakers hook up, since I've tried just about every combination of colored wires together. The speakers on this car are definitely wired differently and possibly to a factory amplifier somewhere. I would appreciate it if someone could send me a link to a wiring diagram for this radio or something cause my last resort is re-wiring the speakers :-( and I wanna avoid that at all costs!
Thank you!!!!!

before you do anything try turning the amplifier on there is a single wire that does that

then look for the speaker wires you will find them if not you need to run your speaker wires to the trunk left side under the carpet you will find the amplifier

i always replace the fuse on the amplifier to a 20 amps and keep it with any aftermarquet radio

Install-dr.com or The12volt.com might have info for that...otherwise try Wirediagram.com for a fee.
Some car stereo shops sell harnesses for plugging in an aftermarket radio to the existing harness that may identify which wires go where.
BMW shop manual with wiring schematics would be the final solution.

The factory amplifier is in the trunk on the left side behind the carpet.

Didn't you use the large connector at the radio and buy a harness?
