Last summer my air conditioning worked very well and when it came time to start using it this summer it wouldn't work. I thought it was a leak in the system somewhere so I went and got the things to recharge it. I did that but when I tried to check the pressure in the system I noticed that the compressor wasn't working. I thought that was the problem but over some time I was messing around with some relays and I got the compressor to come back on, but still the cold air is not working it just blows warm air. Any ideas?

You check the pressure of the system with the car running and the A/C on. I could be that you had a slow leak and not using it, the gas escaped. If your system is low or contains no gas, recharging it may fix the problem and allow the seals to swell to the point that the leak slows or stops.

It also could be a bit of rust in the system. There's a little orifice that sometimes gets rust in it and clogs up the system. If that's the case, big bucks to repair.

Try checking the sytem first and if it's empty, try recharging. That's the cheapest way to go. If that doesn't work, almost anything else is expensive.

I suspect you don't know what you are doing. If you have a leak it shuts down the compressor when the pressure gets too low . If you run it, it will damage the compressor. What THINGS did you get and what did you do to recharge it. You must have a manifold gauge set, and the knowledge to use it, to find the problem. Be careful, even the low side of the system can be over 100 psi under certain conditions.

It is possible to over charge the system. Use the correct gauges to get the right pressures first.

there is no way to give you info but have some one connect a/c gauges on the car then they will tell you it could be different stuff hope this helps you
