Boats are very expensive. Upkeep is very expensive. I've seen shows on TV and a lot of people like to sail in the Caribbean but the food, fuel and other upkeeps that you find there is also expensive.

There's magazines that lists nothing but cars or boats for sale. I would suggest buying one where you want to sail and go from there.

Do some diving and find a sunken sail boat and restore her. I'm not sure you'll find a good one for free. Or your could stand on a interstate ramp and hold a sign that says "Would appreciate a free sailboat" or something to that effect. J/K

I would suggest sailing the coast of your own country first. It will be easier to get a boat suitable for this purpose. A free boat capable of circumnavigating is a big ask.

I would get a job on a cruise ship and see if you like the ocean first.

But, nothing is free. It may cost to fix up if you find one like they did here.
