I am looking for a scooter 50cc to 250cc for on and off road fun. I want it to have extra big fat wheels. I remember in the early 1990's a guy i knew had a scooter i dont remember the brand it could have been yamaha, honda, or suzuki any way the scooter had realy extra big fat wheels like the ones on ATV's maybe a little smaller it looked cool and fun to ride. Does any one know of a scooter with big fat wheels on it or do you have to do some kind of conversion to a scooter to put extra big fat wheels on. All i see on the internet from the regular scooter companies are scooters with small thin wheels. The honda rucus is the only scooter i find with wheels a little bigger but i dont like the way it looks.

Rokon makes several models that appear to meet your needs, but I'm not so sure they would be street legal.

The scooters that come to my mind that would work on the street are the Honda Ruckus and the Yamaha Zuma. Both are 50cc Genuine scooters also makes the Rattler which is a 50cc or 110cc that may also be adaptable for you in that purpose.

None of those except the Rokon have tires that are extra fat like you said, but are relatively adaptable.

You may also want to look at the Yamaha TW200 dual purpose motorcycle if you're so inclined. That does indeed have two fat wheels.

There was a no name small bike back in the early 70's that had big ATV type tires. The problem was it was nearly impossible to control. It was not a scooter but a trail type small motorcycle. The makers tried to benefit from the original ATV the ATC90 by Honda. It too was really hard to control and those who thought they could sit on it and steer were sorely mistaken. I was selling Hondas when that was first released. The first one out of the crate was tested by us on the side road. How the h--- do you steer this thing? The answer is you jumped on the footpeg and leaned opposite the turn instead of into it. The sidewalls on those balloon tires were just too soft to afford any control. One good thing, it would float. The two wheeler was worse yet. Soon many people got badly hurt and the 3 wheel ATV was banned.

I don't know if this is the one that you saw before, but ROKON sells a scooter like bike that looks like it can go both on and off-road. You can check them out at http://www.rokon.com/index.htm. It is similar to one that a guy in my neighborhood had back in the early eighties, back when ATVs first came out. Unfortunatly, if you don't like the Honda Ruckus, this one is not much better looking.

I have a 2004 Aprilia Rally 50cc scooter that came with large knobby tires. Find an Aprilia dealer in your area to check them out. Lots of fun on forest roads and short trips in town.

I haven't seen these bikes in a long time.
I don't think anyone makes them, or similar models anymore.
