Hi, over a week ago (07/03/2007) I had a "Mobile Mechanic" by the name of Ben Harp come to my house and change the head gaskets and check the heads on my 92' Jeep Cherokee Laredo. After he was done and left I drove my car and it sounded and felt horrible. I called him back the next day (07/04/2007) and he said he'd come take a look at it on Friday. Well, he never called back and wouldn't answer my calls. I have the receipt and a copy of the check we gave him. I paid him $465.85 to change the head gasket, and the thermostat. Before he did this the car drove fine, but there was oil in the coolant (meaning a blown head gasket). But now the following things are wrong.
- Very rough start up
- Idle drops very low
- Loss of horsepower
- Knocking noise from the engine
- Knocking noise from the exhaust
- Shifting is off
- A few bolts are missing
- Thermostat gauge doesn't work
Should I get an attorney right away? Legally, what would you do in this situation?

Some family close by is selling a 2000 Grand AM. They say it is there cousins. The CarFAX shows it had no issues. Also it looks very nice and taken care of.

The problem is, it is 117k miles on it. Thinking I could get the price down to $3200 and all is well after inspecting it, is it a good deal?

Hi Guys, just bough myself a 96 (N) 1.9 Audi A4 TDI. When it gets upto 2000rpm a plume of black smoke comes out of the exhaust. I have changed the air filter but it still does it. Now a cant here the Turbo spin up either. could the turbo be on its way out?

Injector cleaner hasnt done anything either.

There was a funky smell in my car and it took me two days to figure out where it was coming from. Apparently when I went shopping on Sunday a package of pork chops fell out of the bags and was left in my trunk for two days in 100 degree weather. The stink was incredible and now I can't get rid of it! The smell is not nearly as bad as it was before I got rid of those rotting porkchops, but now it will not go away. I sprayed the entire car out with Febreeze but it only sort of covered the smell and didn't get rid of it. Any suggestions?

I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla. It has about 48,000 miles on it. How often as the car gets older is it necessary to get the car's oil changed?

In the past, I have been trying to get the oil changed every 3,500 miles or so.

I do both highway and city driving. Lately, its been mostly highway because I drive 60 miles roundtrip to/ from work and its all highway.

i need to know if anyone knows of a site that sells a stroker kit for the 4.6L V8, prefferably with H beam rods and 10:1 compression ratio pistons or lower. im looking to twin turbo a DOHC aluminum block V8, and im afraid that the stock crank will flex to much at high revs. i plan on daily driving it, and in my opinion the rough idle is a fair trade for reliability.

I just bought a Jeep Wrangler, so I'm a bit pressed for cash.

I'm wanting to find a motorcycle for cheap (no more then $1,500). I've been told that the Honda Rebel is a good starters bike...I'm a beginner rider.

Anyone know of any dealer or private seller in the St. Joseph/Kansas City Missouri area who is trying to sell a Rebel used? (I've checked Ebay already)

I have a r reg, twin cam, nissan almera SRI 1.6 16Valve. I bought it second hand a couple of months ago, but recently I have had a few problems with it. Whenever I stop (i.e. at a junction) the engine cuts out. It's starts back up straight away but , It's not stalling, it's just cutting out on me. Today, the revometer was going crazy, holding at 8000 revs and then the needle started going everywhere although the revs weren't.

is there anybody out there who knows what this could be at all please. xxx

My yamaha thundercat (yzf 600 r) if ridden at slow speeds then left to idle heats up until around 103 degrees centigrade when the fan kicks in.

The temperature then stays around 100. Then if i get some clear road and ride it faster than 30 the engine cools down to around 80 and stays there till its slow or stationary again.

All coolants & lubricants are at the correrct leves..

Is this normal, or do i have a problem (i havent had the bike long)?

Many thanks

Does anyone have any tips on steering a car. Im on my 3rd lesson now and im finding it really difficult to judge how much to turn the wheel in relation to the bend or corner. I also drive too far away from the kerb. I realise this is something i need to practice, and will hopefully improve with time but if anyone has any tips to help id be very greatful. thanks

Please be nice, I am a beginner at driving and a ding-bat airhead is teaching me how to drive because noone else will. I took a driver's test and failed the things she never taught me.(her excuse was "I skipped that part because I felt you weren't comfortable learning that and I didn't know they'd dock u for that")

Anyway where is the blind spot when driving? Do you look directly out the left window or over your shoulder and out? Thanks

I've been doing a LOT of commuting on my motorcycle around Boston recently, and here are the things that have been driving me crazy:

1. other bikers who don't think the rules of the road apply to them (I HATE when they ride up the line between stopped traffic, I'm waiting for one of these grumpy Boston drivers to see them coming in the rearview and open his door...not that I want that, but it just seems like a matter of time)

2. The insane number of SUVs on the road. I can't see over them or around them and there are so many that I'm frequently boxed in by them with no visibility.

3. I know this will raise a debate, but... states without helmet laws. I know everyone has their opinions, but the sight of a person's head literally busted all over the pavement stays with you.

4. (for similar reasons) bikers in shorts, flipflops, shirtless, etc. Honestly guys, FLIP FLOPS? If you had to put your foot down fast, you'd have no foot left!

What is your list? (no non-riders please)

I'm in Mid-South Carolina, and lately there have been several really heavy downpours to the point of you almost driving blind. I have noticed that many, but not all, motorists in these conditions turn on their flashing emergency lights. Is this a law, or are people needlessly warning you of the rain (it seems moot to have them on, we can see your lights anyways and we KNOW that its raining heavily)?

Serious? She got the car and now they called her a couple of days later talking about she needs a $3000 down payment or a good co-signer.

She got a 2007 Chevy Equinox with no down payment and we were wondering how. But now we see.

What can we do? Is this legal how they are playing with people emotions?
