I just bought a Jeep Wrangler, so I'm a bit pressed for cash.

I'm wanting to find a motorcycle for cheap (no more then $1,500). I've been told that the Honda Rebel is a good starters bike...I'm a beginner rider.

Anyone know of any dealer or private seller in the St. Joseph/Kansas City Missouri area who is trying to sell a Rebel used? (I've checked Ebay already)

I'd look for a used Honda Shadow. They are a better bike. They also come in various engine sizes from small to huge (1800cc) and are very very dependable. I ride Harly's myself. In fact my last 5 bikes have been harleys. But prior to that I have owned and ridden just about all the bikes out there. I've owned 4 Honda street bikes and think they are great. My brother just bought his second honda shadow. And I have to say, I'm impressed by them

If you are new to this only consider a bike that is in excellent condition. You can print out a blank bill of sale from the internet, be sure it includes spaces to fill in serial number, price, date, sellers name needs to match title. Have the seller sign the title over, in some states this needs to be notorized. Don't mess with a sale that doesn't include a free title. Now the bike is yours, there is no warrenty, but if you shopped right you have a deal and can take care of any minor repairs and still be ahead.

The Honda Rebel?
I know this is an inexpensive bike, but consider saving a little longer to get the bike you want.

Go to www.lets-ride.com and then click on the state of Missouri. In the classified section, you'll be able to find all sorts of used bikes that are for sale.

You will quickly outgrow the Rebel. Consider a duel-sport bike to learn on (DR350, DRZ400,XT350). You can pick these up cheap and you will still have something you can use as your confidence increases.
Then get your bigger street bike, now you have two OMG.
