Please be nice, I am a beginner at driving and a ding-bat airhead is teaching me how to drive because noone else will. I took a driver's test and failed the things she never taught me.(her excuse was "I skipped that part because I felt you weren't comfortable learning that and I didn't know they'd dock u for that")

Anyway where is the blind spot when driving? Do you look directly out the left window or over your shoulder and out? Thanks

Randy c has this right. nothing more to say except to get used to looking over your shoulder left and right when changing lanes, merging into traffic, and backing into the street or parking lots.

the "blind spot" is to either side of the vehicle, starting about even with the back of the rear side window and going back about 2 car lengths. You can find it by pulling up to a parked car and stopping when even with it. Then slowly pull forward until you can no longer see the vehicle in your side or rear view mirrors. That's your blind spot. To check the blind spot, you must look over your shoulder to the side your wanting to change lanes too. Again, while practicing to find the blind spot, look over your shoulder to that side and you will see exactly where you need to look to see the other vehicle while it is in the blind spot.
Good luck, don't get flustered. You'll do ok.

The post that runs down from the roof to the door, where your mirror attaches is a blind spot.
You cant see behind or through it.

There are others in your rear view and side mirrors as well.

Get in the car and look, you will see what I am talking about.
Take turns walking around the car and try to see the other person.

A blind spot is what is next to you but you cant see it. For example your driving a a car pulls up right next to you and u no longer see him in the side mirror you dont think he's there anymore because u dont see him but if you were to change lanes you'd hit him. If your changing lanes if your going right look over your right shoulder if your going left look over your left shoulder and make sure no one is in your blind spot when you change lanes. Good Luck Driving

The biggest blind spot is on the right side just away from the side of the car. Your mirror should be adjusted to barely see the rear fender for maximum vision. You can always turn and look to make sure.
