Nissan is a 2005 Altima 24,000 miles
Developed with no warning on vacation brake problems
Left side rear brake pads and rotor worn out
Needed to replace rear pads and left rear rotor
cost us $309 to fix
We feel this was way too early for this problem to develop comsumer report states that this car is above average in
good brakes.

I own a 2002 Saturn L1 series, it has 55,000 miles on it. When i am driving in stop & go traffic, sometimes on the temperature gauge the needle will go to hot in around 5 to 10 minutes time, when i start driving on the highway at regular speed it will go back to normal. The guy at jiffy-lube told me to get a radiator flush ($80) and this would alleviate the problem. IT DIDNT. My questions are what is the problem? Should I definetly get this fixed? If I dont do anything about this what will happen? How much should it cost to fix the problem? How long should it take? I am suppose to go to Florida next weekend for a little R & R, but I would rather fix my car if I have to cause I need my car for work. I live on Long Island in NY and a very hot summer is here so I have to do something quick. Any advice, help would really be appreciated. I value the answeres from my friends on this site. THANKS!!!!!

It is very sporadic. I am constantly adding water and coolant. Does anyone have a clue to whether it could be a thermostat or water pump issue... or any other suggestions!!

Thanks!

my boyfreind got into a fender bender and hit out the plastic covering on the headlight of the other guy's car. there are some minor scratches and a ding on the hood. the guy said he would have an estimate and it came out to about 1,600 dollars. the thing is the guy took it to his uncle's repair shop and i beleive they are in cahoots together. by law i beleive you have to get more than one estimate and he is pretty reluctant to do so. my boy is willing to pay for the repairs and they agreed not to contact the insurance company. last month my boyfreind's sister got into an accident and the whole front was destroyed and that alone is 2,000 dollars. how much should it cost on average? this guy is smelling pretty fishy.....

I have 2 1995 Hondas. Both are fine running cars. One is a 4dr Civic DX @ 97k purple. The other is an Accord EX @ 92K Tan. I have a 42 mile commute to work one way.

I like the Accord the best BUT its a V-6 and with gas @ 3.50 a gallon it kills me to take it anywhere outside town. It runs awesome and is A-1 Shape.

The Civic is my work car, its not as nice of a car BUT its cheap to fill up and I only carry liabilty it so its cheap to insure. Its @ about 100k so it needs the timing belt and water pump done and it needs rear brakes. Otherwise its its fine.

The accord needs nothing. The Timing belt and water pump were done by the prior owner.

I have a friend interested in the Civic but he tells me he can't afford to buy it at this time. I know if I sold the Accord myself I could get back all the money I paid for it(Bought it last October when the lease on my 04 Camry was up).

I figure keep the civic till my friend wants it then take the money from both n buy a new car

There was the one day boycott of gas on or around May 15. I dont think it put a dent toward the overall goal of lowering gasonline prices. So out of curiosity what do you think would be the most effective way to boycott gasoline. Below are some things to have in mind before you answer:

- If there is a 1 week boycott - What will people use to get to work (Commuters traveling long distance 1+hrs).
- I think that if people were on board with this, the first thing they are going to do is go to a gas station and fill up there vehicles ultimately putting big smiles on the evil oil companies.
- How will this effect the economy. If the overall goal is successful gasoline prices will drop. But what are some
dis-advantages if any?
- Can a Gas Boycott be advertised?
The yearly trend for gasoline prices is: Spring Prices will rise just a bit; Summer Prices Skyrocket; Fall prices will drop just a bit. Enough for the customer to breathe a sigh of relief, and then the trend will continu

2003 Explorer. Put the key in ignition and turned to ON. All the Guages went to full (tach, speedo, oil, temp, fuel). I turned it to OFF and TOOK THE KEY OUT. The the starter started turning. I had to disconnect the battery to make it stop. I was not aware of a remote starter on this car - what can I look for and can I remove it myself?
