I recently asked this question and got a few good suggestions and a couple of suggestions weren't worth my time. I did take my car to Auto Zone to have them scan for the code. Auto Zone, here anyway, won't pull the trouble code on vehicles older than '93. So I looked in my Hayne's Repair Manual. I was able to pull the code myself. There's an electrical connector called the Assembly Line Data Link[ALDL] located under the dashboard on the driver's side. I used a piece of speaker wire and pushed one end into the diagnostic test terminal[B] and the other end into the ground terminal[A]. I turned on the ignition and the dashboard lights blinked giving me a trouble code of 34, which was a Mass Air Flow Sensor. I purchased the part for $64.00 and my car runs great! I hope this might help some of you that are having the same problem!

The car is a 1987 Oldsmobile. The car drives more or less fine at slow speeds below about 40 mph. Somewhere around 30-40, and only when accelerating, the car seems to shake/vibrate. It feels like you're driving on a rough surface even when the road is smooth. If you take your foot off the gas, the shaking stops and it becomes smooth again. It was recently purchased, so I don't think it's something that could have been easily noticed and repaired by the dealership. Thanks in advance for your help, and let me know if more information is needed.

Lets say you accelerate right after jumping into your car. And then you accelerate after driving it for a half an hour. Does the car's performance imrove after the engine has been "warmed up" ?

OK, hopefully someone will give me a simple answer to this question and I won't sound like too much of a rookie.

This is concerning a 1999 748S.

I was riding the other night and while switching from 1st to 2nd gear at about 6500 rpms my bright light went out. The bright light indicator still works as if I'm switching them on and off but nothing happens. The bright light itself is still dimmly lit.

This morning when I cranked it up and noticed my brake light is stuck on.

Can anyone explain this?

Thanks

Right now I have a 1995 Firebird. It gets horrible gas mileage, it's bad in bad weather, it has no storage space, it's not that fast, and it's starting to fall apart. And Kelly Blue Book says that it's only worth like $4500. I want to get a new pick-up or small SUV that'll be better in the bad weather and probably get better gas mileage. I'm not really strapped for cash, but I don't drive that much and it's going to, at least, double my insurance if I get a new vehicle so it's not really going to save me any money. I've had the car for 9 years, but I'm done with my sports car phase. What do you think?

It fell to the left and the gear shift(not the clutch) bent all the way around ending right above the left footrest. I took the bar off and placed it back where it belongs but I cant find fist gear now i dont know what the problem is. I think that one of the cables broke whe it did a 180. Can i take it somewhere for diagnosis how much? What could it be and how do i get it back on to the road as fast as possible.

What would be your opinion of creating a high speed rail system from the San Francisco Airport to Tokyo's Airport using one great floating bridge, approximately 5,100 miles. The trip would be comfortable and would be only 14 hours (speed 300+). The energy for the trains would be supplied by either solar, wind or ocean energy along the way. The floating bridge would contain a floating base every 1/4 of a mile. There would be a train departing hourly each direction. 26 trains would be using the system at a time. What is your opinion on this transportation meathod?

I've been dealing with bunk charging since I've had this bike, my solution has been hooking up a trickle charge every other night. I'm looking for a more permanant solution. I've always heard this era has charging problems but nobody will say more than they have the problem.
