Well, assuming the car is worth keeping and the glass is shot,

try any or all of the following...

1) Disable the car each night (put in a keyed battery cut out)

2) Get one of those steering wheel locks

3) Remove the radio and anything else of value.. leave the glove box open to show it is empy.

4) Get a little red idiot light and wire it up on the dashboard. Makes it look like you have an alarm

5) Get an alarm

6) Leave the car unlocked.. (at least they won't break more windows..)

7) Pull the coil wire and take it inside with you each night.

8) Leave the keys to the neighbors car on your dashboard along with the license number and the fact that the other guys car has a trunk full of $20 bills.

good luck...

There's not much you can do to stop someone from getting into the car, since they'll easily tear through anything you duct tape over the window opening. You have a few options to prevent them from stealing the car, though:
1. Turn the wheels toward the curb and install a steering lock device, such as "the Club".
2. Install a starter interrupt device to prevent anyone from "hotwiring" the car.
3. This one's the easiest- just open the hood and remove something necessary to run the engine, such as the coil, and take it inside with you. In the morning, just pop it back in and start the car.

Good luck.

All of the above and remember that a broken window MAKES the car look stolen which is often its own deterrent.

So remove your valuables, park in well lit area if garage parking isn't available and get the window fixed post haste.

Good luck.

Peace.

Replace the glass? Do you think that'll work? You could buy a pit bull or Rottweiler and fasten him to the steering wheel. Or buy a handgun and sleep in the car. Or hire a teenage gang to patrol the area with baseball bats, chains and switchblades. Or ..well, you get the idea. Obviously, with the vehicle open to the elements, it will be vulnerable. The quicker you get it repaired, the quicker you can get to sleep. Good luck!

Duct tape it all including the front windshield. They dont know if it is broken too and will consider that sight not worth the trouble.
