Have a trusted mech put it up on a rack. Even if he charges $50 or so for this, (my tech does) it will save you much more in the long run, rather than buying a lemon. It can be used as a tool to bargain the dealer (owner) down; if any mechanical problems or defects are found, and you still want to make the buy.

Go to: edmonds.com and key in the details of the car (as you've given here). That site will give you the price that they deem the car is worth. Many people and businesses use this site and it is supposed to be accurate.

It sounds like a good deal to me though I don't know much about cars. My car is ten years old and runs perfectly well. The mileage on mine is very low though. I only have about 50,000 miles on it.

Good luck and if you don't use Edmonds, at least use another similar site to see if you are getting a fair price.

Shop elsewhere, the Cavalier is a low end car to begin with, and with 100,000 on it, it's ready to start falling apart.

ask if you can have a mechanic check it out. they say cars are good for 200,000 miles depending on how much torture you put them through. so i would say if it's in good condition it's not a bad deal. but seriously, have someone who knows about cars take a look at it.

Cavs are good cars. You might try talking the price down a little but otherwise, it sounds pretty good.

Not bad. It's not really low mileage, but it's low mileage for that price.
