I've never been to a tractor pull and it's something my boyfriend really enjoys doing. This will probably be my first exposure to a 'country' pastime.

If you think you're going to be in the front row, bring earplugs. Otherwise, sit back, have fun, expect your boyfriend to act goofy, and don't worry about it when he does.
Oh, and don't dress up to the nines for this - it'll be dirty, dusty, and everyone will think you're a city kid. Tennis shoes, jeans and a sweatshirt or t-shirt are fine.

It's been mentioned several times already, but ear protection is important, especially if your seat is anywhere near the arena. Those things can be louder than firearms.
Second, don't wear your Sunday best clothes, no matter how much you want to impress your date. Your clothes will likely end up smelling of fumes and smoke, and they might even get covered in soot and dirt, if you're sitting close enough.

oh my gosh, they are sooo boring!!! I mean, I have horses, and love the country stuff...but I HATE tractor pulls!!! Everyone I know loves them, so I'm sure it's just me...If your boyfriend or someone you know is doing the pulling, it would probably be a ton more fun....depends on who you go w/ too, I am sure...

ear plugs, the foam kind you roll up and put inside your ears, and over them wear shooting ear muffs, since it is a tractor pull you would fit right in if you wore a tube top and cut off jean shorts....

Take some good ear plugs. Those guys can be loud enough to cause permanent damage.

Don't wear anything you don't mind getting dirty, just in case. And bring a set of earplugs, it can get kind of loud depending on the class.
